Málaga

Málaga is the capital at the Costa del Sol. Here you can find things which you cannot find in Marbella or Fuengirola. The hospital in Málaga is also well equipped, so that you must not fear to become no professional help. From the Castle of Gibralfaro you have a stunning view over Málaga and the harbour.

The harbour of Màlaga seems to be not very busy. However, Málaga received prosperity in the 18th century because of the busy shipping in connection with the trading of wine, dried fruits and minerals. Málaga is today an intermediate harbour for the most cruisers in the Mediterranean. More interesting are the older buildings in the old town. It is nice to make a tour with a coach.
And you can enjoy to drive around slowly between the big traffic of the other cars. The city is not easy to overview and there are a lots of one-way streets which you can test. As a stranger you can lose your pleasure in driving around with a car.

The historical old town can be overviewed from the Hotel of the Castle of Gibralfaro. The famous Citadel (Alcazaba) is directly situated to the Castle (Castillo de Gibralfaro) which includes the similar named public Hotel. The Citadel was built in the year 1065 from King Badis,of the Granadan zíri, on the ruins of a Roman fort. The Citadel and the Castle of Gibralfaro are connected in the inside.

The park beside the street"Paseo del Parque" by the harbour is a preferred area to make "Siesta" or to make a walk during the midday time. The lots of plants and flowers make the park to an oasis in the loud and never ending traffic of the city. In this park you will recognize very quick that it is part of a capital, which also shows the normal problems of a capital. There are the beautiful and partly very big palms and trees, and on the other hand it is also very dirty .
But the high part of unemployment and the young persons without a chance in the future you can also find here and also belonging to it the disfigurations. However, the "Paseo del Parque" with its park is directly situated on the way to the bull ring "Plaza de Toros". The bull ring was built in 1874 in the neomudejar style. During the Fiesta held on middle of August the best bullfights take place.
